About Al Maslakh Records
Al Maslakh is a Lebanese record label based in Beirut, specializing in experimental and improvised music. Associated with musicians and artists including Mazen Kerbaj and Sharif Sehnaoui, the label was created to document and release free improvisation, noise, and experimental sound coming out of Lebanon and the region.
The label takes its name from the Arabic word for “slaughterhouse,” a nod to its uncompromising, avant-garde ethos of releasing challenging music that commercial outlets would ignore.
