About Arak du Marje
Arak du Marje is the traditional arak of Les Vignes du Marje, a winery based in Marjeyoun in southern Lebanon. The estate is part of a movement to revive winemaking and distilling in the south, a region less associated with Lebanese wine than the Bekaa but rich in agricultural heritage of its own.
Made from grapes and aniseed in the classic Lebanese manner, the arak reflects the estate’s commitment to its roots and its terroir. By producing both wine and arak in Marjeyoun, Les Vignes du Marje helps broaden the geography of Lebanese drinks and shines a light on the potential of the country’s southern hills.
