About FabricAID
FabricAID is a Beirut-based social enterprise founded in 2017 that rethinks the way used clothing moves through society. Instead of letting donated garments pile up or end up in landfills, FabricAID collects clothes from individuals and companies, sorts and cleans them, and resells them at micro-affordable prices to communities in need. The model turns charity into a sustainable, dignified transaction where shoppers pay a small, fair amount rather than receiving handouts.
The organisation operates recognisable retail concepts such as its Souk Okaz thrift markets and curated upcycled lines, alongside collection points across Lebanon. By pairing environmental impact with social inclusion, FabricAID has grown into one of the most talked-about circular-economy ventures to emerge from Lebanon, and has expanded its approach to other markets in the region.
Why FabricAID Matters
FabricAID answers two Lebanese challenges at once: rising poverty that makes clothing unaffordable, and mounting textile waste. By giving used garments a second life and selling them with dignity, it keeps tonnes of fabric out of landfills, creates jobs, and lets vulnerable families shop rather than beg. It is a homegrown proof that circular business can be both commercially viable and socially transformative.
