About Bkerzay
Bkerzay is an eco-village and cultural retreat set in the hills of the Chouf, near Baakleen, dedicated to sustainable living, hospitality and traditional Lebanese crafts. At its heart is a pottery atelier where skilled artisans revive time-honoured ceramic techniques, shaping clay into tableware, jars and decorative homeware that reflect the surrounding landscape.
The project pairs a guesthouse, olive groves and nature with active workshops, allowing visitors to watch – and even try – the pottery-making process. Bkerzay’s ceramics have found their way into design retailers and homes well beyond Lebanon, carrying an earthy, handmade character that speaks of place and heritage.
Why Bkerzay Matters
Bkerzay links craft, ecology and rural livelihoods in one place. By reviving traditional pottery and employing local artisans in the Chouf, it preserves Lebanese ceramic heritage while modelling a sustainable form of cultural tourism.
