Acerca de Carla Baz
Carla Baz is a Lebanese designer based in Beirut whose studio produces lighting, furniture and objects with a strong emphasis on materiality, craft and gesture. Trained internationally, she returned to Lebanon to build a practice that treats each piece as an exercise in balance – between weight and lightness, raw and refined, function and sculpture.
Her collections are known for their confident use of marble, resin, brass and blown glass, often exploring how a single material can be pushed into unexpected form. Baz’s lighting in particular has been widely exhibited and sold through international design platforms, earning her a reputation as one of the region’s most thoughtful contemporary designers.
Por qué Carla Baz es importante
Carla Baz represents a generation of Lebanese designers who treat material as narrative. By working closely with local artisans and stone, metal and glass workshops, she keeps traditional skills alive while producing objects that feel entirely contemporary and are collected far beyond Lebanon’s borders.
